The 2017 annual report had the comment "Australia currently has forward contacts in place for gassupply through to the end of December 2017, and through toDecember 2018 for electricity." The 2018 annual report said the gas contract expires Dec 2018. I guessed for the last two years at least BIS has had annual gas contracts. We don't know if the contract price is a fixed constant price over the year or if it has a fixed component plus another component linked to some monthly/ quarterly reference price.
I purchased BIS at 91c just prior to ex div and at 82c post div. I thought the last half 5.0c eps plus positive outlook gave them pe less than 10. I did not figure in the impact of rising gas price. The falling share price made me start looking for reasons.
