I have no idea of the context of some of those comments but I believe the military is an area where those comments could be justified. Power would mean strength in that context. Abbott would never be stupid enough to imply power as one persons oppression over another in a dictatorial way. Gillard went too far that day.
Abbott was doing ironing in a dry cleaners when he made the ironing comment. Another point made out of context by Gillard.
Using her fathers death to point score was poor form .Not good judgement for a person who says she was close to her father.
It was an over emotional speech with accusations delivered to provoke females to anger and it worked for a time till people saw the hypocracy.
