one key difference .... we all knew they were acting the scene and that no-one was hurt.
even the Exorcist fgs. the newspaper write ups greatly described the subtle art and getting the girls head to turn 180 then on further to complete the circle. it looked so real in the 70s but I saw it again recently win SBS and the technology showed well when looked for. so we all knew those were fake.
these days kids get real 'real'.
and I don't recall ever seeing a movie about a 12 yr old kid taking a gun to school and shooting his teachers and class mates.
oh, and on the chainsaw massacre, there've been a few reports of people going raging with a chainsaw in recent years. don't tell me that movie didn't give some people ideas.
