Now that we have confirmation that this particular virus is spread from ‘the walking well’ ie asymptomatic patients & now evidence of infection in patients that have come in contact (not closely as in family members, an education session in Germany cited), it’s now a whole new ball game globally. There was every reason to be wary with test kits unavailable & centralised blood screening with labs in China...if results are not in the lab, it didn’t happen. It’s just viral pneumonia. I agree with this, some patients were reporting almost 2 weeks since symptoms & still not able to be tested. Flu is under-reported here too, immunised, self limiting, unless you go to ED or your GP has tested you already.

GPs need to swab & report this one. It’s a notifiable disease under public health.

There is no reason to panic in Australia, just be aware. But border control & isolation should have been there weeks ago. If anyone thinks this last flight from Wuhan was the culprit, think again. We are looking at sometime in early December 2019.

They are looking at a 4 month turn around in a vaccine. That’s very fast. With Big Pharma scrambling for this & plus antivirals, don’t be surprised if something good happens here for BIT .
