Hi all, looks like Petsec has only just started V258 according to today's press release. The well apparently spudded on 12 December. What they have been doing since the rig was handed over the previous week end is put the caisson in place on the sea bed. The well will take 19 days to drill.

No wonder there was some weakness inthe market today.

So they are nowhere near the first shallow sands...so woops ..got it wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Looks like we have to wait until the end of the month for a result. Well bit more waiting is no big deal. Looks like second Vermilion well is going to coincide witht he first China well (assuming V258 is successful).
