They are already treating COVID patients with anti-virals so you are right with what you said. It is, however, in conjunction with vaccines though. Anti-virals seem to do the job at alleviating the respiratory side effects of COVID and they are saving lives. The vaccines are giving protection against people getting a bad does of COVID. The two treatments do not work in isolation.

Your point about the vaccines is not quite correct. They are not mandated - still voluntary but advised and made available. Alos, the majority of people accept the vaccines - maybe a small 10% (the crazies amonst us) don't. Apart from BIT HC, I have not come across anyone who does not accept (and maybe want) to be vaccinated. It is only a precaution and they are safe anyway and don't cause any issues.
