His name is Peter Todd. There is a nextflix documentary that shows Todd was communicating with Satoshi on line.
Todd thought he was using his Satoshi alias on a chat forum, and added to one of his statements (in a secondary reply) only to realise that he had in fact used his real name Peter Todd.
This post is still there to this day, because once he realised his mistake, deleting it would be an emission of guilt.
one of the more elite coders looked at the original code written for bitcoin and commented that it was fairly rough and not the work of a trained/educated coder.
Satoshi is portrayed as a genius, when in fact he was just a young kid that fashioned an algorithm around the principles of gold. He mined over 1 million bitcoin in the early stages, while testing his invention, and then realised if it ever got out the coin would lose credibility, so he burnt his key.
The official story is Satoshi is dead, but the reality is, if he spent any of the crypto it would be traced back to him.
Bitcoin has a large number of people working in the background that has access to the code and tweak it as require. So that seems to suggest if they wanted to increase they number of coins they could.
