the point of a currency is not to have wild swings in value, but to be used as a medium of exchange.

why would any country allow a currency it doesn't control to be used in place of its own.

having nothing physical in your hand is a problem too. try and refuel your car on a Nullabor using Bitcoins and see how far you get.
