Delays outside prediction are due to unforseen conditions in the well (eg the pipe resting on the casing wall, inability of a particular bit to cut cement) and others are due to external factors (eg delays in availability of critical equipment, delays awaiting fabrication of tools and bits, etc). Other unforseen factors that have had a slowing effect on the timetable include week-long subzero temperatures and two feet of snow cover, and in a recent case - delays in getting equipment across state lines due to public holidays. ------------------------- if delay occurs, I like to see more detailed explanations such as those in the email rather than just "recovery process will be completed within approx. two weeks".
why couldn't they say something like "the one week delay in getting equipment across state lines due to public holidays, the recover process will take further one to two weeks."?
and i like to see that kind of announcement released as soon as they knew the delay is inevitable due to whatever the reason is.
