* UTexas paper - very clear and readable - tl;dr crypto prices are manipulated to hell, no smoking guns here but it's just not statistically possible that this is organic
* Coverage in Financial Times, NYT and Bloomberg
* Notes on how Tether works, by Robert-Jan Den Haan - who studies this area closely, and has done the background research on several big Tether news stories of late. He also got someone at Bitfinex to actually talk to him about this!
Den Haan thinks the dollars backing tethers really do exist, and come from the whales and other exchanges buying tethers from Bitfinex.
