Like so many seemingly radical new inventions it was in fact building on previous work over many years .Nick Szabo with his bit gold (not to be confused with the cryptocurrency available today ) was not far off it .
Bitcoin has no central control and therefore no true ability to be controlled by any individual, corporation or government agency.
This makes it absolutley useless for manipulation by individuals, corporations or government. The two nearest things to central control in it are
1. The use of exchanges
2. concentration of miners
If the exchanges become corrupted by outside influence we return to to Peer to Peer
Whenever the miners have tried to control through concentration of mining power new miners have appeared in other geographic locations .
