Obviously there is no alternate or independent audit of this quantity or figure, this estimate is simply derived from the algorithm that says / implies that only 16.3 million bitcoins have been mined to date.
How would we know? For sure?
So 16.3 X US $16,880 ~ $275.1 million. US M1 is currently around about US $3.2 trillion.
I am surprised, how small that number is, if the cryptocurrency is to be a viable international currency then bitcoin may have to inflate enormously to simply complete the monetary volume/size?
