    Here’s the market depth for bitcoin for the Bitstamp Exchange.

    And from an Australian exchange (at the bottom of the page);

    There are at least 37 exchanges, centred all over the world (Bitstamp is in Luxembourg, btc Sydney, LUNO in Nigeria), so to know the true market depth, if you feel you can rely on the accuracy of every exchange, you’d have to be summing the depths of each market. It would be as if we didn’t have an ASX, and had to rely on depths of brokerages individually.

    Can you redeem your coin in ten seconds? Not if you are a first time customer at bitcoin.com.au, it could take days. But then, they aren’t an exchange, they’re a dealer. You can deal directly with exchanges, but even then you can experience problems when it comes to selling. But I bet most buyers have never sold. They’re just sitting there, buying more, watching their wealth accumulate, better than real estate or tulips ......
