Apple has patents on 'play money' that may or may not be used in their version of what is described as a 'closed' nfc payments network.eg using apple phones to make payments. I have not read one article where any analyst understands how apple could roll out a closed network eg not relying on any bank and limited control by mobile telco's ,but if bitcoins success which I simply don't understand is any gauge then apples 'closed nfc payments network 'concept combined with cloud and play money may start to make some sense to someone.
ps no other telco or mobile phone company has suggested they are interested in this closed play money nfc network.
ps if it wasn't for apples patents i would look upon these virtual currencies as a new type of pyramid scheme.
