I've posted about Bitcoin on HC but most reply's were mocking me for using them.
I can't complain, cashed in half my coins last week for a very generous profit and I mean a very generous! My coins were bought at around $15 per coin and are now valued over $1k per coin.
Either way, I use them all the time mainly to transfer funds to people I know in Europe and USA which is very handy, plus for online shopping which is expanding everyday.
What got me into BitCoin was there were no fees to transfer between two people. I originally sent money to my ex in Germany each month using traditional means which would involve $30 transfer fees, conversion fees at each end etc. The banks rip you off for doing this!
By using BitCoins I have no fee's at all, just a conversion from BitCoin when I decide to exchange which is rare consider I use them often. I'm just lucky the BitCoin value has gone up. Now I only have to send 1/2 a bit coin to my ex where as 12 months ago I use to send 30 BitCoins per month. My ex cashes her's out for Euros upon receiving.
If you're new to BitCoin I would recommend just keeping an eye on them. I didn't expect to see them at $1K so soon which has me wondering if it will correct itself. I believe they are useful, and here to stay but need to show more stability to mainstream folk.
