    Am fairly sure they'd be insider trading if they did, but perhaps they are. I'm not sure how a director thinks he can be acting in the best interests of his company when he lends shareholders' funds on an unsecured basis to a related entity of poor credit when he knows that funds will soon be required to meet its commitments.
