The Boat People would likely find Indonesia the best place to go - then the Indo's can get a feel as to how we feel about their smuggling rackets. They might even find Australian locals heading in as well.
What most people don't seem to realize is that we are currently living in an Ice Age, albeit interglacial period. The world's average temperature is currently 14.5 degrees. Historically the planet's average temperature is 22 degrees. During the Ice Age glacial periods it stands around 10 degrees.
Gaia may well be rooting that we do all we can to increase the temperature and kick start her back into the normal range. Australia would become a much greener place, with a greening across our desert areas. We would do much better. Northern Europe and Canada would become much nicer places to live too. The UK would be able to produce decent wines.
