I think caviar was a good sprinter....and for most of her wins, she was only up against a mediocre bunch....in some cases she ran against some real dregs...because no one else was going to waste their time and money going against her
if she had run against top fields every time, I would have more respect all the money in racing is in gambling, and then stud fees and they hype her connections would make more money with a male foal, that they can stand at stud, or sell for 5 or 6 million by the time he is 2 years old, never having touched a racetrack
I know I am the odd one out here, going against the grain
the big names, famous horses of the past, ran the big races, in top fields they did the 2 miles, against the best of the best so she is simply the best sprinter, not the best horse ever, in my opinion they could have made more money, retiring her after 10 races, and concentrating on the big money from her off spring there, the cats amongst the pigeons
