SC, The thing to keep in mind is that Google Earth ("GE") is a (usually) seamless composite mosaic of 'stitched' images. Not all images in the mosaic are updated at the same time, which can lead to some confusion, depending on whether there are stitched images on your area of viewing and where your mouse pointer is sitting on the screen.

For better or worse, this is very clearly demonstrated at the BS complex because there's a 'join' of images that runs almost directly North-South over the top of the u/g portal entrance.

Try this:
Open GE and zoom-in to the BS complex such that only the processing plant and the open pit fit on your screen. Maintain the default orientation (i.e. North points to top of screen). Notice how the imagery on the LH ~30% of screen is slightly darker and the RH ~70% is lighter? This boundary between darker and lighter images almost runs directly over the u/g portal. They are different images taken at different times. The date show at the bottom of the screen will be based on where you place your mouse pointer. Move the pointer over the open pit and it shows 30/03/21. Now move it over the processing plant and it shows a more recent image of 20/04/21. In this example there's only a one-month difference, but sometimes, depending on what you're viewing the time differences can be greater.

Now zoom-in to either of the open pit or the processing plant such that either of them occupies the full screen. From here you can use the Historical Imagery feature to step through in time to see what, if anything, has changed regarding the dewatering of the open pit, or the ROM pad, or even the larger processing plant.
The answer is bugger-all, as at March/April this year.
