I am not sure if a want a blackout in the southern states. What will happen, is the instantaneous price of electricity will go up, and the Qld generator will sell to the southern states, to boost their profits, and short us Queenslanders.
I have at home, 2kw honda generator, 3 kw honda 12v generator, 500w of my camping solar panels, and a 2500w pure sine inverter. and 4kw of lead acid batteries.
On the weekend I experimented, I could run my 2 fridges (only) on solar 24/7 and with the generator I can run the hoover or the washer or the kettle but only one at a time. What is the Country coming to to make me think I need to do this---
What I have to do for my business, is to buy a 500KVA diesel genny, the MFR says all up cost is 16c / kwhr, about half what I pay Origin for power. Hardly environmental.
We should not have to do this!!
