I know there's alot of dot points & ground to cover in formalising these deals but seriously how much time are big pharma really going to take to formalize it ? The deals are pocket change upfront costs to the pharma look at their annual expenditure & you really think they have to think hard about throwing $1.5M up to put their feet in the water ? Sure the milestones are large & they have to put a figure to them, but do they really need time to think if they should chuck up the intial $1.5M & select their targets for something they may pay a few hundred mill more for in years to come ? It's not like it's a high risk investment for them, sure if they where paying double figures or even high single figures upfront then yes it might take considerable time for them to dot the ink - but fark $1.5M & they take 12 months to make a decision on weather to take the punt ? If you where serious about tapping the targets I'm sure you'd be throwing the coins out your pocket to get the screening done quickly as opposed to debating it over a tiny figure & putting the results back a year.
