What people have to understand is that *some* Arab nations are the product of the Ottomon Empire and a full century has not yet elapsed since they were in power and enslaved Europe and many of the Arab/Asian plebs still carry the same power barbaric mentality.
They are the last of the barbaric states, that highly disregard human rights and democracy - fact.
There needs to be some common ground, somewhere, and something will have to give. Or we may well be under the rule of a similar regime of that barbaric Ottoman Empire as cycles tend to repeat but in different forms. It may well be Saddam's agenda to acheive this via his oil fields.
I personally prefer political dialogue and construct vertical markets in these countries, but they *are* barbaric that have always seeked the west's demise, that is the way they think, as simplistic and stupid it may sound to us. Germany are playing their cards close to their chest, NATO's demise is probably a good thing in some ways.
