I think you just stated whose fault it is, kids who look at the older generations and think the wealth was just given to them and not accumulated over a life time of hard work and sacrifice. How many people sub 30 nowadays have been overseas, many of them multiple times? How many from gen x or older went overseas before they were 30? Not to mention every young person these days driving around in a new car, many older people drove second hand cars well into their working lives before they could afford to buy a new car. Times have changed, that doesn't make it the fault of the older generations.
Housing is expensive in every major city around the world too fwiw, that's just the laws of supply and demand as populations grow in a city. The rental crisis here is being driven by dumb govt policies directed at landlords which is driving landlords out of the rental market and creating a shortage. ironically it's mostly the young dumb people voting for these policies, not the older generations
