My wife and I got caught up with rampant inflation caused by Labor’s Gough Whitlam government.

Basically three years of my wife wages was wiped out by inflation on building a house.

In the end we just took pot luck in building a bare house … and we are still living in the same house!

The next hurdle was the unplanned pregnancy….there were no kiddies dumping ground in those days for her to continue to work!

What people forget that once u had a child u had to leave the public services…my wife wasn’t employed by a public service but some private companies had similar policies.

Blame the women who demanded the right to work as long as they wanted for ur whoes!
