From my perspective If you used Akida 1500 for the AI sensor portion of processing you still need a CPU that these sensors will send final data to. This reduces power consumption significantly so then both could co-exist.
That said We know they are collaborating but to what level they are at is unknown to me. I will state that I'm truly not expecting any Akida MB hand raising so if it happens I'd be surprised. That said we do not know how far along they are in progress.
there is a clear power saving with Akida 1500. To get that chip to tape out MB could have easily gone through a third party for IP eliminating the need for News releases.
