BlastX now in Australia!, page-2

…So, to continue (as part of product introduction )

….The company was launched to much fanfare - chaired by former CEO of Medibank Private, George Savvides, and with major deals already in place for one productvwith Zimmer Biomet and - even more spectacularly - Big Parma giant, 3M having taken up an exclusive global sales contract for five years…

(That 3M deal was for BlastX - the product now available at Terry White chemists !)

What could possibly go wrong  ?
…….Well Blastx is no longer available through 3M

… The million US dollars (???) put in as forward payment did indeed buy BlastX some space in the 3M superstore
…. On a badly lit bottom shelf, it seems, pushed so far to the back that the 3M sales teams forgot all  about it. ….
Those teams were even more forgetful after a few months when it transpired 3M was putting up ~$6.7 billion to  make its Big Pharma even bigger by buying KCI Acelity [ref].
(And Acelity happened to make  to make a less efficient silver-based competitor to poor old BlastX).

… And then Covid came .
It was all a bit depressing although a while back Next Science got out of the deal with 3M
…. Which is how (finally) Terry White comes to stock BlastX  : )

Anyway if you are interested in any more background here is a useful early days post from @DojiNinja [link] from April 2019  and a post from me too, a few weeks later [this one].
I was pretty excited that BlastX was so natural and so versatile back in those days - Whatever polymer thing was in it that gets into the biofilm could even remove barnacles from boats!

Anyway now you know a bit about the history and what it is  and how BlastX has  finally made it’s (convoluted) way onto a shelf (hopefully not a dimly lit bottom one ) at the local chemist.
