IMHO that's a good start for Queensland - introduce a few more taxes similar to the sourthern states so that we no longer have to subsidize them like we have since federation.
Isn't it amazing how the Labor governments end up acting like the conservatives when they think that they don't have to worry about the voters. Kennet had a $100 house tax only for a couple of years to help get us out of the last labor mess.
