BS reported that the ongoing rail line construction of Bhusan Steel Ltd at Meramandali in Dhenkanal district was stopped and machineries were seized after the company was found violating the local sub collector’s order not to carry out any construction on the canal land.
According to Dhenkanal sub-collector Mr Biswanath Acharaya, a case was filed in his court by the Rengali Canal authorities accusing BSL of unauthorized construction of the rail line on canal land.
After hearing the case, the sub collector had ordered BSL not to use the canal land unless they had permission to do so. However, the company continued the construction work. On receipt of the report of the violation of his order, the sub collector rushed to the site and seized some the machineries.
The company is constructing the rail line to connect its plant to the mainline at Meramandali.
