The company has always been underfunded - the iiNet/Fairfax venture had contributions of $5+$5m by each of the parties, plus Anytimes contribution o fthe content etc (ie minimums)
BigPond spent over $14m developing their system, and it does less than ReelTime's
If you look at the Use of Proceeds, there was never any cash allocated for marketing etc, and the UOP was basically for infrastructure for STB.
These guys need a free to air to help them a) to sell the ads as piggy back on existing clients and b) to promote the product to lift the audience. There is no dount that if the content can be "given away" in lieu of adverts, then it will succeed - free to air has survived for 50 years on this - and kids today want to play with widgets, not the TV.
Anyway, i hope that a telco or free to air comes in to assist, as without one of these (or someone with deep pockets) the company will struggle
