The Roman Catholic Church teaches justification by works and sacraments.

That's not quite true TD, this is what the CC teaches

The Catholic Church teaches that justification is by grace through faith, which is a free gift from God. Works and sacraments are seen as important expressions of faith and cooperation with God's grace, but they are not the cause of justification.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that justification is a free gift from God, received through faith, which is expressed in works of charity.

As in In St Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he writes: 'For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God - not because of works, lest any man should boast.' (Ephesians 2:8-9)
