In verse 4 John addresses the “seven assemblies/churches that are in Asia”. This region, known as Asia Minor (modern-day western Turkey), was part of the Gentile Roman world. While these churches likely included both Jewish and Gentile believers, the majority were probably Gentiles by the time of writing. This demonstrates that John was authoritatively addressing Gentile believers, not only Jewish ones.
Revelation 22:16-17 – Jesus through John, speaking to all the assemblies/churches, invites “he who hears/is thirsty/desires” to freely receive salvation, showing it applies to all, not just Paul's audience.
1 Corinthians 3:4-7 – Paul says he and others (e.g., Apollos) are fellow ministers by whom people believed — not Paul alone.
