From your understanding of the RCC, does the Bible teach that a believer TODAY can be confident they will enter eternal life ?
I think St Paul's gives us a clear answer.
St Paul tells us in, In the letter to the Philippians 2:12, St. Paul exhorts the Philippians to work out their salvation with fear and trembling. This indicates the seriousness and importance of cooperating with God's grace for the salvation of our souls. The fear and trembling mentioned here refer to a profound reverence and awe in the presence of God's saving work in our lives.
Through Jesus's death and resurrection, we have received God's initial grace. Paul makes it clear that while this gift is offered freely, we are responsible for responding appropriately throughout our lives. It's not a one-way street; just as we've been given a free car, we still need to drive it to reach our destination. We must do our part to live rightly and fulfill our purpose.
