    Blewitt regards his own actions as having been criminal but that rather than being subject to an impartial application of the law believes he should be granted indemnity. He's come forward now because previously he couldn't remember what happened but he was shown some documents and now he can remember what happened and as a matter of conscience he's come forward. This leviathan conscience doesn't however extend to making his statement of hie's not granted indemnity. One wonders whether conscience is his motivation at all.
