Investopedia not withstanding, in my experience June is the month when the SPs dip to the lowest point. I call it the June blues (this applies only to shares that are considerably down over the year or since a peak earlier in the year). However, in view of that it makes sense to bail early (in May) to beat the rush.
I'm not sitting on a paper loss, so will be looking to buy the dip.
