    Fault correction iterations seems to be a fact of life for the field.

    We can make assumptions on past actions or we can try to learn. I did a quick search for "laser optical facet failure" and found a whole bunch of info. The most complete site I found, it even has a section that covers burn in issues (including shorter wavelength lasers as we are producing) that can become apparent during burn in, among a whole host of other issues outside of burn in, was this one;

    https://www.tomosemi.com/wiki/laser-diode-failure-mechanisms/

    Should BluGlass and downstream providers have been able to circumvent the issues in pre production? It reads like you can try but I'm pretty sure that is why the burn in process exists, to find any faults in both production preparation processes and also in production, individual lasers, not all are perfect.

    And I should add I have nil experience or training in the field.
