This is correct but most volume is likely to be existing customers of the duopoly who have gone through the trauma of adapting their design to accommodate a "standard" form factor. Unless BLG can offer something really tangible such as dramatically improved thermal/light efficiency or unobtainable frequencies they are unlikely to change suppliers. As I understand it BLG are currently struggling to match the duopoly on efficiency and light output so we are effectively limited to new application type customers right now. What i am keen on is the launch of new efficient products using RPCVD, new frequencies and the unique advantages of the DFB laser. It's only then that BLG will have a superior product which may be sufficiently attractive to sway existing customers of the duopoly to change supplier. Until then new applications are likely to be BLG's target, where that may be unique frequencies or unusual form factors. however we will still need to provide adequate reliability/longevity and at least match the efficiency/light output of the duopoly - as a last understood it BLG was only just approaching matching our competitors at the moment - we need to do better
