Forget about the big announcement. The market does not have a good track record of recognising them when they occur. The SP actually fell after the announcement of the Fremont fab acquisition (24/03/2022), and before that the appointments of Jim to the management team (21/09/2021), and Jean-Michel Pelaprat to the board (03/05/2021). All of these were significant steps forward for the company, but were negatively received by the market.
Only when the company finally were able to announce that their lasers were now "meeting performance benchmarks" did the SP finally rise (even then it was a delayed reaction). That was 19/01/2023. Fast forward a bit over a year, and we find ourselves back where we were - in terms of SP - as at that announcement. This in spite of all of the developments since - 8 laser products and many more in development, joining the University of California Santa Barbara’s SSLEEC consortium, CLAWs Hub funding, MOU with Applied Energetics.
This stock is a slow burner. It could easily become a Disallowed, or eventually even a 100 bagger, but I don't see it happening very rapidly. The main 'company making' announcements are already behind us. The only way a quick return is going to happen at this point, is through a take-over offer. Otherwise, from here on we will see incremental advances (continued expansion of product range, additional customers, further rounds of CLAWS funding, further R&D contracts, sales revenue ramping up), but don't expect the long-term SP to be closely correlated with these achievements. At least not until that holy grail of the markets is in sight - nett profitability.
