Translucent engaged BLG to help them with cREO. The foundry work was not disclosed by BLG at the time, but recently (6-12mths ago - not sure when), BLG disclosed that their work with IQE originated from their work with Translucent.

I'm not sure whether Translucent was owned by Silex when they initially engaged BLG. So not sure whether this was a local referral or Translucent reaching out across the Pacific.

The enabling technology work BLG is doing with IQE may be to make cREO substrates commercially attractive. If this is the case, then the announcement that IQE is proceeding with the cREO technology acquisition from Translucent/Silex maybe significant to BLG given it may mean IQE will look to use RPCVD as well.
