    You make a great point . The Industrial Age received a major boost thanks to steam power replacing water power. The smart industrialists moved from one energy source to the next. Before exhausting one power source, the smart thing to do is switch to the next technology.

    No doubt fossil fuels have been a real gift. It has enabled man to lift the living standard massively despite the fact that we were using it only once by mostly burning it.

    Now we have the opportunity to move forward again to a very clean, cheaper, more flexible, more abundant fuel source before we run out of this one.

    I can only imagine the arguments over time about changing technologies. Horses to cars. Ground transport to aircraft. Wood to coal etc.

    While technology rolls on, many of the debates probably don't. smile.png
