Perhaps the real issue is of trading with long term super money, rather than of investing it - of which the big funds are just as guilty.
Secondly it's an issue of putting super into speculative stock without appropriate risk management.
I can see a valid case for putting part of super funds patiently into the more immature stocks, but then of course even if one uses charts or the dartboard to time/price entry one would prudently need to understand and have a view on the longterm fundamentals.
Just my opinion (as someone without a SMSF).
