there are plenty of stocks on the asx which do pay a dividend, anyone wanting dividend returns should invest in them.

i think u'll find most ppl who invest in companies such as cvn are looking for capital growth, and this is best achieved by using available cash flows to reinvest in the business rather than paying dividends and then having to go to market for more funds... at further dilution.

this serves the long term holder better, in my opinion.

and i dont think the average shareholder views a decision to not pay a dividend as the company turning their back on them.

i'd bet more offence is taken from a lack of information from the company.

like EL said... the commodity gods are smiling elsehwere at the moment... but they can just as easily... and very quickly... smile back at cvn.

im a long term holder, obviously disappointed at 32c, but far from getting the razor blades out just yet.
