The shale play was disappointing by one measure and this is that we do not have the funds available to go alone. If we did then I suspect that we would be having a crack at this one, given the expanse and quantities available.

The upside is a commercial find which Vietnam has all the hall marks of one and if so shale and Paloma could be back in the mix, rather than be beholding on a partner who would dictate terms.

The other aspect is that with a commercial find Paloma will be a faint memory. But with a $3bil business all the ground rules shift.
