Isn't this the whole idea of bitcoin though? It becomes more and more difficult to inflate the digital currency without significant advances in technology and computing power. You would think as technology advances the economy would be growing but mining fewer and fewer bitcoins which would still make it desirable. Simple supply and demand. In the long term, if it's adopted by banks or governments somehow - it will be many many multiples of the current fiat conversion rates, I'm still not entirely asure how it would be valued?

If the world does adopt a digital currency you would hope it would be bitcoin for this and other reasons. I doubt it will happen though as it becomes very difficult (if not impossible) for central banks to interfere/ manipulate.
