Surely no more folly than fiat money? Paper/ plastic vs code?
And the beauty of it is it's self regulating in a way. You can't flood the market with bitcoin because it becomes uneconomical to do so at certain points along the way. Tech has to catch up. I'd be curious to see how / if that caused bitcoin ' value ' to remain fairly steady and increase in a somewhat linear fashion. Not the case at the moment for obvious reasons.
Just the click of a button floods global markets with free money currently.
