Their statements about Afterpay having an apr equivalent in the hundreds of percent is just nonsense, as late fees as capped at a maximum value and the loans are never for a year, so you can't annualise it and suggest that's a fair comparison.
There's no way i can see from Afterpay USA terms and conditions (simply reading them, not legal advice) that someone could actually rack up hundreds of percent in fees and charges. This makes their statement a lie by omission at least, as they don't point out that nobody could ever incur the apr level of cost they describe.
it's like suggesting that a 10 minute Uber ride is ridiculously expensive because of you took the Uber from Perth to Sydney it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Nobody is ever doing that.
