"we obviously did a good job with the liberals recently....
and wiped out the labor mole.... Turnbull"
The above statement is indeed rather unusual.
Lets analyse it.
Malcolm Turnbull not that long ago was elected by the
Liberal Party as Opposition Leader.
Malcolms views on issues such as climate
change and the ETS would have been the same
before he was elected leader as was the case after.
His position on ETS was basically the same position
as John Howard took to the 2007 election that was supported by the Howard Cabinet and I would
presume Peter Costello.
Now Malcolm Turnbull has been undermined
from within but was replaced in an
internal secret ballot by one vote.
There was also one informal vote.
Now, Malcolm Turnbull is still a Liberal MP.
He is supported by nearly 50% of the Liberal MPs
and yet it is being put to us that Malcolm Turnbull
is a Labor mole.
To me calling Malcolm Turnbull a Labor mole
is a very serious and damaging claim
that IMO may be defamatory.
But putting that aside and assuming that
the statement is just an attempt at humour
it seems at least to me an unusual thing to say.
Anyway just my thoughts on the matter.
cheers
