Along a city street a brunette occupied herself by jumping from the kerb onto the road. Each time she would land on the road she would yell out "thirty nine".

This went on for a while when a blonde came walking along the footpath. Seeing the brunette doing her routine the blonde walked up to her and exclaimed in only a blonde's inimitable way "I can do that!"

The brunette replied "Here you have a go!"

Gingerly at first the blonde tried the trick of jumping from the kerb. When she had got it right she then was confident enough to yell out "thirty nine" as well, however her timing was out at the beginning.

Happy that she mastered the task the blonde made her routine quicker. The brunette leaned against the fence and watched.

So involved was the blonde that she failed to see the bus approaching. It came up and hit the blonde, flattened her and killed her.

The brunette then went back to her usual routine but this time yelling out "forty, forty, forty!"
