The government should have been building quarantine accommodation a year ago. The covid virus will likely be around for 10 years and may become a lot more deadly.

I am wondering if a war broke out if the states would have to create their own army to protect the borders. Maybe we need to talk about a republic and hold a referendum for the states to break away from the commonwealth and become countries in their own right.

What a crock of crap - this situation has the same potential to happen even in the dedicated facility you have proposed. The real failure here is the inability of Vic to do quick and accurate contact tracing. It's a virus if it can get out it will get out.
