Yes King Reef is a place we have stayed in our caravan too. A shame the beach coral is dead due to siltation but it's still alive further out.
The small mackerel are running now offshore and the bigger ones will arrive shortly.
But the weather is terrible for August, heavy showers and gusty wind, not at all like in your dawn photograph.
