BLOODSTONE GOLD PROSPECT EXTENDED
HIGHLIGHTS
Northeast extension of the quartz veined interval with visible gold defined at Bloodstone:
? 4m @2.2 g/t Au in RWAC0214,
? 4m @3.0 g/t Au in RWAC0216,
? 4m @0.8 g/t Au in RWAC0218,
Rubianna Resources Limited (ASX: RRE) is pleased to announce further gold results returned
from the recent Aircore drill programme at the Bloodstone Project within its 100% owned
Murchison tenements located in the highly prospective Peak Hill Mining District of Western
Australia (Figure 1). Previous drilling by RRE at Bloodstone returned gold results of up to
8m @ 28 g/t in RWAC00251 and 4m @ 16 g/t Au in RWAC02152.
The recently completed drill programme (Phase 1) consisted of seven (7) holes for 309m of AC
drilling and has extended the NE boundary of the Bloodstone mineralisation (Figure 1). Results
from 4m composite samples returned gold values of 4m @ 2.2 g/t in RWAC0214, 4m @ 3 g/t
in RWAC0216 and 4m @ 0.8 g/t in RWAC0218. Gold bearing quartz veining continued at the
bottom of holes RWAC015, RWAC016 and RWAC018, but could not be pursued with the
available drill rig and mineralisation remains open. As the remaining holes in the NE of this
programme were unable to penetrate to target depths the potential of this system has not yet
been fully tested and mineralisation remains open.
The second part (Phase 2) of the drill programme will consist of twelve holes for approximately
1000m of RC drilling to define the western and down-dip extensions of the Bloodstone
mineralisation (Figures 1 & 2). This programme constitutes 50% of the Exploration Incentive
Programme (EIP) grant awarded to RRE by the Western Australian Government last year3.
Drilling is currently scheduled to commence early February 2012. Assays would be expected
within three to four weeks from completion of drilling.
Rubianna’s General Manager, Dr Steve Batty, said “following confirmation that high-grade gold
is present and the strike extent remains open within the Bloodstone prospect, the next phase of
the drill programme will be an exciting step to investigate the high-grade potential at depth”.
Bloodstone drill collar details for the historic and more recent RRE drilling along with significant
intersections are tabulated below.
